
Deanna Carruthers and Amanda Race met in 2010, when they both worked for the Canadian Cancer Society in Edmonton. Amanda from small town Newfoundland, and Deanna from Edmonton immediately hit it off and became fast friends (after a trip to Candy Cane Lane over Christmas)! Fast forward 13 years, vast experience in many different fundraising platforms, national and local not for profits in Alberta, management of employees, moves to New Brunswick (just Amanda) and now business partners, Demarca Consulting was first started by Deanna in August of 2021, and the partnership was then cultivated in Deanna’s car on the way to the Edmonton Symphony in May, and finally came to fruition in July of 2023.

Deanna Carruthers CFRE
Deanna Carruthers has been working in the not for profit sector for over 15 years with both small local organizations, as well as large scale national not for profits.
Prior to becoming a consultant in 2021, Deanna worked for the Canadian Cancer Society, Centre for Autism Services Alberta, and the YMCA.
Amanda Race
Amanda Race has been working in the not for profit sector for over 12 years also with both local and national not for profits.
Prior to becoming a consultant in 2023, Amanda worked for the Canadian Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Northern Alberta, Muscular Dystrophy Canada and the Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC).


Lena MacIntosh
Lena MacIntosh is new to the not for profit sector and the team. But don’t be alarmed; she comes equipped with a lifetime of customer service skills and an obsession with perfectionism. She worries so you don’t have to!
Prior to becoming the Administrative and Communications Manager in 2025, Lena worked in the advertising industry and has 7 years of experience in administration, sales, and customer service. During that time she was also working towards her diploma in Library Information Technology.
